holly jollies

We are having a splendid holiday season this year!
Even when receiving lumps of coal and dental floss.

The girls were super stoked when they opened up a new gaming computer.

They quickly moved on once they unwrapped the Xbox.

human behavior

The kids are back in school and we are returning to our regular routine
but we have also been partaking in our fair share of conspicuous endeavors.
Recently we headed to the racetrack to watch a bunch of cars going around and around and around, over and over. That didn't go over too well and some environmental issues were raised but it was a work thing that will hopefully be a one time deal.
There is also the Great Minnesota Get-together

The best boating fun ever with friend Addy!

 Snakes!
 The Dell's

And a couple Lynx Basketball and Twins Baseball games.

But we also made it to our first Minnesota United FC football game, which was the best!

camp elk river

It's that time of year when the girls head off to camp. This year for nearly a week. Here is an account of their time.

Sophia's experience

Day 1 We didn't ride horses which was a bummer. We did swimming tests, sadly; I didn't pass. We had a campfire which of course had s'mores, skits and songs. My favorite song was the Elk River one. When the campfire was over we all went back to the pines.[My cabin only] we went to sleep waiting for the next day to come. Day 2 In the morning we could pick sleep in, swim or yoga. I chose to sleep in with Sydney and Nichol. When the other girls came back we went down to the horse barn. We had riding tests, grooming, saddle bridle and tying horses. Then we went up to gray koch and ate lunch. We went back down to the barn to get assigned to a horse. I had Little Foot. She did not have little feet though. She was a cute chestnut with a star and a stripe on her head. We ate dinner, then swam, then tie-dyed and bought things. Day 3 Riding Little Foot was fun other then having a sore butt from sitting on the saddle. Every other day was pretty much the same with riding and grooming. I had a lot of fun and hope to go back next year.

Anna's experience

I had so much fun! To start the day of my first full day I did yoga. I also did gaga ball every day.
We went into rose's🌹 art room to make slime. The slime was so messy! We made obleck  out of corn starch and water. I did camper council as well. I did hiking and human foosball! Tikki (our camp counselor) fell into the lake as well and it was super funny! I made crystals a car and went to a dance party! I did bottle rockets, archery🏹 and swimming🏊. We made ice cream🍨but it was disgusting! I did a game in the hollywood theme that we had, Celebs verses crazed fans. We had to collect as many gems (rocks) of our color without being caught by the celebs or the police! We came in 2nd place!  We went down to see the horses they were so cute! autographs clare parker  latte meradith bonnie hawly

literally in the know

It has been quite sometime since we have made a post but we have been busy.
A few weeks ago we had the rare opportunity to visit Minnesota Public Radio's headquarters in Saint Paul to celebrate their fifty years of service. 91.1KNOW is a big deal around here and it was great to visit the Current's recording studio where so many big names have performed. We were also given a free concert down at the Fitzgerald Theater where we could share the stage with Chastity Brown while eating Glam Doll Donuts and coffee.
The girls are finishing up the fourth grade in a couple days and we are excited to begin summer vacation.
They have started making their own board games which have made for some interesting game nights.

We had a visit from Morfar

Yesterday we were down by the river watching the friendly rivalry play out between Minneapolis and St. Paul at the first
"Pulling Together" tug of war.

power to the people

Today we joined the Women's March to the Capital.
It was an amazing turnout (approximately 80,000 people).
There was a lot of energy in the crowd and we will not soon forget it.
...and then we went to the Science Museum. It was the best Saturday!
