mothers beautiful day

We had a terrific family day today for mothers day with a home cooked breakfast, a morning in the park, 
an afternoon at the Apple store and some Amazing Thailand for dinner.

We have been working on a large scale remodel for some time now that started with our kitchen and has since moved to the basement where we hope to make fancy new bedrooms for the girls. It has taken a bit longer than expected but we are getting close to the finished product and the girls have been great helpers.

easter on the move

Today was a bitter sweet day in Blooming Prairie as we helped great grandma Benson move to Heather  Haus and we had a great Easter celebration at what has always been the Benson Grandparents home.

spring chill

Last week was the end of winter swimming lessons for the girls and tomorrow is the official beginning of Spring. We just wish that would be reflected in the temperature outside. This morning it's 5°F (-15°C) before the 14mph wind. 

And we are so done with this snow!

fire station no. 6

Today we took a tour of downtown fire station number 6 and it was a great thrill. While we were there momma asked if they ever rescue cats from trees. The answer is No. They do not rescue cats from trees. Anna being slightly embarrassed by her uncool mom whispered "I wasn't wondering about that."

...and of course they had a chance to take a little test drive.
