for fairy sake

The fairy spread around our place got a new addition today when we picked up a fountain that the girls have had their eye on for the entire year. They spotted their dream fountain at Menards many months ago and with a price tag north of $150 we told them "not a chance!" What resulted was nothing less than a challenge in their eyes as they simply had to have it, for the sake of the fairies now living within our garden!!! Since that fateful day, they have diligently saved their allowance and have taken on extra projects like folding clothes and going to bed early to earn the extra cash. Today they swung by Menards to find that fairy fountain had been discontinued and there was literally one fountain left in the entire state. It was the display model. The only one left, and it was on sale for $99.99. It is still in my opinion an epic waste of money but for the girls it is more; the glorious results of a misspent youth.

 Things are beginning to bear fruit (and vegetables) in our garden and this evening I cooked up a lovely  cauliflower and beet soup. So much more to come :)

 Now that school is out for the summer we are getting busy with all the fun things that come with summer fun, like roller skating. It was actually kind of hard for the girls and at one point Anna proclaimed that "this is not really my thing".

 So a couple days later we headed to Shrek, the musical and that was pretty cool.

our fairy house and the great divide

We have been hard at work in the garden this spring (thanks in large part to Grandma and Grandpa). While we establish the garden, Anna and Sophia have been fixing up a fairy house in hopes of drawing some fairy magic to our garden.

 Meanwhile indoors; the girls have officially separated into their own bedrooms.

The day began with breakfast in bed for momma on Mothers Day, complete with her favorite delicacy from Patisserie 46. That was just the start of a full day of family adventures for all of us. Once we got going, we headed down to the lakes to enjoy the pleasant spring day. Amazing Thailand followed along with more parks and finally we had some fabulous Crema delights. If only every day could be a fun family day.
